Tuesday homestead

New shirt. Think it should be a uniform for all nursing mamas, if you catch my drift. Dirty mirror courtsey of Baby McTouchyPants.

Our bedroom in the morning. Plus one Chesney.

Spent 12 years cleaning off our wooden table this morning, stuck with chunks of pureed peas and prunes and peaches and puke. Picked up a new tablecloth because -- no thank you. Also, our backyard tree's purple flowers in baby food jars. And my favorite kitchen accessory -- a lil ceramic holder that keeps my butter warm and special.

  2. ummmm...your house is ah-mazing! (as is your t-shirt, btw.)

and what's this? harper sits up on her own? i feel sort of dumb about babies, i don't know when they start doing stuff! but she looks adorbs.

our kitchen table is piled high with laundry. i thought 2010 might bring the domestication of michaela, but no.

  4. @mic -- she does sit solo! started that about a month ago and she lurves it. i think sitting can happen at various times? like 5-8 mths maybe? and glad you likey the house -- come vizit. thxbai.

@krista -- really you like? maybe i've been too mean about the red. the issue is the next room over has this heinous yellow faux finish thing. and the red looks bad next to it. but i think perhaps anything would look bad next to it...

  6. Haha, it took me 90 years but I got the shirt joke.

But now I'm all...I love ice cream. Ha.

I love seeing little bits of the house as you get settled in. :)

  7. What other colors are you considering? I like that someone had the guts to try out the red but I think it might be a little too intense.

  8. @a.j. well...something pretty simple if we re-do it. prolly just a cream -- the kitchen is a nice green and you can see it from the dining room so too much clishclashing would annoy me. (tho it currently does clishclash.)

i'm feeling kind of lazy even tho i have my MIL helping and might just do the front room? er? er.

  9. oh you're feelin very fancy after your little break and putting lots of pictures and captions and things up... i'm very impressed :)

i think the red is fine. i'm not a live with red kinda person, though... i'm a turquoise/light gray/buttery yellow white/more turquoise/various shades of blue slash turquoise kinda person... :\ so i'm of no help.

    (i would repaint)

ANYWAYS I LOVE YOUR SHIRT. maybe i will get one that says "FORMULA FEEDING QUEEN THAT GAVE HER BABY LOTS OF GAS/ACID REFLUX ISSUES"

    ...

lalalalalal :D at least i can joke about it right? <3

  10. oooh, i thought it was a coral! not as big a fan of red. :( i'm the wrong person to ask as two of my rooms are BRIGHT APPLE GREEN.

  11. @kalen ... but she prolly sleeps better than hj? always a silver lining ;)

@krista yea, def not coral. and we're not afraid of bright colors either -- our apartment in sf had a bright lime green wall and also a big ol' blue wall. something about this house makes me wanna keep it simple tho? tomorrow we're painting the faux finish room a cream ... and we'll go from there i guess!
